Inside information on administering your personal training business Whether you are considering a career as a personal trainer or searching for ways to increase revenue and gain new clients for your existing business, you’ll find The Business of Personal Training to be an indispensable reference. Written by some of the most successful personal trainers in the country, this book provides the foundation for building your personal training business. While many books address the subject of exercise training, few have been written about the business side of personal training. This book covers the topic more thoroughly than any other existing publication, discussing not only how to build a solid business but also how to be an effective trainer. Part I defines personal training, outlines the history of the profession, and reviews the qualifications for being a personal trainer. You’ll also find important information on the certifications offered by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research, and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Many personal trainers have no formal business education and must learn the business aspects of their trade through trial and error. Part II helps you avoid common business mistakes, describing how to create, market, and manage a personal training enterprise. You’ll learn how to develop a mission statement and business plan, set business policies, create strategic and creative marketing plans, establish prices for services, hire and train staff members, and much more. This section also explains a personal trainer’s legal and professional responsibilities, such as giving clients a health screening, obtaining informed consent, and inspecting facilities and equipment. Part III offers techniques for becoming an effective personal trainer. Since there’s more to helping your clients achieve their fitness goals than simply prescribing a program, Part III discusses how to maintain a professional relationship with clients, the psychology of personal training, teaching techniques and tips for improving client-trainer communication, how to motivate clients and help them set goals, and how to design appropriate, individualized exercise programs. Nineteen sample forms in Parts II and III make it easy for you to put the ideas presented into practice. Learn from veteran personal trainers what it takes to succeed. The pr

The Best Way To Write Your Personal Statement

When writing your UCAS personal statement it is essential that your English is good. Nothing gives you away or lets you down so much in your personal statement as poor and inaccurate English expression. Most degree courses, of course, include some element of essay writing or reporting, so that the powers of English expression you show in your UCAS personal statement are an important indicator to the admissions tutor of how you will cope with the demands of the course. It is here that you might find it useful to consult a personal statement writing service, where a professional writer can construct your UCAS personal statement for you from the information you provide and give you a model of how your personal statement should be.

How To Write a Personal Statement

Personal statement service sites on the internet employ highly qualified graduates with extensive experience of writing personal statements. Some of the writers are teachers who have spent years advising their pupils in schools and colleges on the best form and style for their UCAS personal statements. Their advice is invaluable, but, in any case, it is a good idea to let someone else have a look at your personal statement before you finalise it. If your reader finds difficulty in understanding what you are saying, then so will the admissions tutor of your chosen course. The spelling and grammar checkers in Word will pick up some errors, but it is not a good idea to depend totally on this, as the spell check will not highlight any words which are spelled correctly even if they are the wrong word (e.g. bear/bare confusions and the like) and some of the grammar questioning is rather odd.

Your personal statement is a sort of formal essay, and the style should be appropriate to this purpose. Avoid slang and make sure you are writing in the right voice. Try to avoid the clichés which are so easily available to the personal statement writer, because they will bore the admissions tutor and he will ignore what you are trying to say. Avoid the beginning which says “I have been fascinated by pathology since I was very young”, since it probably isn’t true and is quite uninformative. In fact tell the truth about why you are interested in a subject. Perhaps the word “fascinated” is best avoided in describing your interest in a subject since it sound like a gross exaggeration. When describing your own qualities try to avoid the overworked notion of “good team player”. Many people are not good at working with others, and most of the great innovations in human culture have emerged from the individual brain and effort. Say something like “I work efficiently with others, but I have the confidence in my own judgement to be equally happy working on my own”. Every UCAS personal statement your admissions tutor reads, probably, will include the claim that the candidate is a good team member, so do your best to avoid the obvious.

Excerpt: Josel of Rosheim (alternatively: Joselin, Joselmann, Yoselmann, German: , Hebrew: Joseph ben Gershon mi-Rosheim, or Joseph ben Gershon Loanz; c. 1480 March, 1554) was the great advocate (“shtadlan”) of the German and Polish Jews during the reigns of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I and Charles V. His stature among the Jews, and the protected status he gained for himself and for the Jews within the Holy Roman Empire, rested in part on his skills as an advocate and in part from the Jewish role in financing the expenses of the emperor. Josel of Rosheim remains a major figure of the History of Jews in Alsace. His family probably originated from the French Louhans. One of his ancestors was Jacob ben Jehiel Loans, personal physician to emperor Frederick III, ennobled for his medical achievements, and also Hebrew teacher of the well-known humanist, lawyer and philosopher Johannes Reuchlin. Despite the favor shown to this ancestor, his family history also shows the precarious position of Jews during this era. In 1470, three of his father’s brothers, including Rabbi Elias, were prosecuted in Endingen, brought before the emperor on charges that eight years earlier they had performed a ritual murder at Sukkot. Also in 1470, Josel’s father, Gerschon, settled in Oberehnheim (Obernai). In 1476, along with the entire Jewish community of that town, the family fled (pursued by Swiss mercenaries) to Haguenau, where Josel was born, possibly as early as that same year. Nothing is known of Josel’s childhood or youth. As a young man, he was a rabbi at the court of the Lower Alsatian Jewry, and made a living as a merchant and money lender. These three occupations would remain constants in his life. While still young, he worked for the welfare of his coreligioni… More:
