Car Hire Australia – Helping You Enjoy Your Outback Holidays
Sydney Opera House. Great Barrier Reef. Blue Mountains. These are some of the major attractions in Australia which draw tourists from across the world. If you want to truly experience Australia, though, you should go to the areas in the Outback, which are best explored with a car hire.
With a car hire in Australia, you can select from several scenic routes that go through the Northern Territory and offer the best of the Australian Outback, the most popular of which is the Red Centre Way. This is because this route goes through the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park where the renowned Ayers Rock or Uluru can be found. The Ayers Rock is a massive sandstone rock which is known to change colors at certain times of the day and is deemed sacred to the Aboriginal people. Because of this, tourists are discouraged from climbing it, though this is still a possibility for those daring enough.
Besides Ayers Rock, Red Centre Way also passes through the King’s Canyon in Watarrka National Park and the alluring town of Alice Springs where you can find out more about Aboriginal art.
The Nature’s Way is also popular, going through the world-famous Kakadu National Park. This park has been named a World Heritage Site because of its diverse natural landscapes, plant life and wildlife, which includes crocodiles, kangaroos, wallabies and bandicoots.
This route also passes through two other national parks, namely Nitmiluk and Litchfield. The former is the site of the beautiful Katherine Gorge while the latter has many scenic waterfalls, with Wangi Falls being the most popular.
Of course, you can plan and follow your own route if you have your own car hire, too. By doing this, you can get to choose which attractions to see. For example, you can see the notable granite boulders known as Devils Marbles, drop by Lawn Hill National Park to see one of Australia’s most impressive fossil sites, hike through the MacDonnell Ranges or walk along the unspoilt, white sand beaches on the Esperance Coast.
For accommodations, you can stay at a hotel in Kalgoorlie, a city founded during the Australian Gold Rush, or Darwin, which is the capital city of the Northern territory. You can also stay in one of the refurbished mines in Coober Pedy or a cattle station in the Gascoyne-Murchison region for a unique experience or set up your own camp in certain areas, of course.
Indeed, you can choose your own adventures with your own car hire. Just remember to always bring a lot of water with you and to wear sunscreen to avoid dehydration and sunburn, and be aware of the signs along the way and in the parks. No matter where you go, you’re certain to find something exciting to do or something amazing to behold. After all, this is the Australian Outback, where the world comes to ultimately enjoy the wild outdoors.

Orbost’s 1978 rainfall of 1,559 millimetres (61.4 in) is as much as 256 mm (10 inches) above its previous record from 1935. In the winter, unseasonal rains struck normally bone-dry areas of northern Australia, and the wet season arrived early in the north in October. Though the Wet was not abnormally powerful in November and December, |
